Chip Scuttles

The problem with chips (frites or fries) is that they have a tendency to go cold or soggy when left to stand out. This is particularly problematic when it comes to buffets, which require keeping food out for self-service or canteens where food stands on display and is served. The chip scuttle is used to keep chips warm and crisp. Types of chip scuttles include both light-weight and heavy-weight with common types being chip scuttle with gantry, chip scuttle with overhead gantry and electric chip scuttle. Chip scuttles are used in buffets in restaurants including in golf-clubs, rugby clubs and bowling clubs. They are also widely used in canteens and cafes.
