Computer Modems

Modem is the short form of a modulator-demodulator which is basically a device used for modulating information into digital signals and demodulating wireless signals or effectively decoding the information carried in these signals. Modems are used in all types of networks and the normal Wi-Fi modems are a common example of modems which allow one to connect a computer to Internet. Modems simply turn digital data of a computer into electrical signals which are then transmitted via telephone or internet lines. Modems use several technologies such as dial-up, Wi-Fi or WiMAX for their functioning and both wired and wireless modems are available in the market.
