Suspended Ceilings

A suspended ceiling is a secondary ceiling which hangs below the structural (main) ceiling. They can be used aesthetically to hide wires, ductwork and pipes or to provide acoustics by providing insulation. Suspended ceilings can also work to conform to environmental legislation by providing ventilation. Suspended ceilings are also called dropped ceilings, grid systems, concealed grid systems, stretch ceiling, T-bar ceilings, false ceilings, grid ceilings, drop in ceilings, suspended ceilings, drop out ceilings and ceiling tiles. Common materials used to create a suspended ceiling include fibres, tin, plastic, composite, or wood panels. Suspended ceilings are used in construction and architecture in residential and commercial properties.
