Water Heaters

Water heaters are a water storage device or tank, which is usually run on natural gas, propane or electricity. They are used to heat the domestic water supply for bathing and washing purposes so kitchens and bathrooms both have an adequate supply. Water heaters come in various sizes and should be chosen according to the household's water consumption as well as such factors as the number of bathrooms. The most common kind is the Conventional tank. It constantly stores hot water so large volumes are always available. Another type is the Tankless heater. It heats cold water with a gas burner or electric element only as it is needed. A heat-pump water heater can be used in isolation or in conjunction with a conventional tank. More recently developed water tanks include hybrid and solar water heaters. All models are available as a point-of-use water heater which is usually located under the sink to supplement the home's hot water supply. Most properties contain a water heater. The choice of which to use would depend on such factors as the fuel used to power the building, other heating systems and economical factors regarding energy efficiency.
