Surge Protectors

Surge protectors are devices designed to protect electrical equipment and devices from voltage spikes or surges. This is done by either blocking or shorting to ground any voltage that is above the safe threshold for that device. When the surge or spike of electricity is high or for long enough it will damage the device, although it might not initially break the device it will cause additional wear and tear shortening its life span. Surge protectors will vary in how much protection they offer, the protection is offered in an amount called joules so that higher the level of joules the more protection is offered. As more and more of our life becomes digital and electronic it becomes even more essential to protect our electronic devices. Damage to these devices can be costly in terms of time and money. Surge protectors help protect these devices and therefore, are essential in a domestic and business setting.
