Agricultural Rollers

A roller is a type of agricultural tool that is used to break up large clumps of soil or flatten the land. Modern rollers are pulled by tractors, although they were previously pulled by animals (particularly horses). The purpose of rolling and land flattening is to control weeds and ease harvesting. Rolling can also assist in the reduction of moisture loss from soil which has been cultivated. Common types of rollers include segmented rollers and lawn rollers. Rollers are commonly used by farmers and farm workers on farms but are also commonly used on residential lawns and cricket pitches to level and compact soil surface.
