Load Cells

A load cell is a transducer that creates an electrical signal which has a magnitude that is directly proportional to the force being measured. Load cells dominate the weighing industry and are suitable for all industrial approaches. The various types of load cells include hydraulic load cells, pneumatic load cells and strain gauge load cells. However, sensors and strain gauge load cells are the most commonly used type. In applications not requiring great accuracy, such as in bulk material handling, mechanical platform scales are still widely used. However, when accuracy is vitally important than load cells are used. They are commonly found in processing plants around the world.
