Environmental Chambers

Environmental chambers are similar to climatic chambers, in that, they provide an environment whereby environmental conditions can be controlled for the purpose of testing. In these chambers, temperature (including fluctuations and extreme variations), UV, salt spray, radiation, moisture, vibrations, altitude, weathering and humidity can be controlled to create an environment to test the performance of products and specimens. Materials which can be tested in environment chambers include biological items, industrial products, and electronic components and devices. Available types of climatic chambers include mechanically cooled test chambers, Liquid nitrogen cooled test chambers, and Modular Walk-in Chambers. Environmental chambers are used to create a test environment to measure products’ resistance or monitoring the weathering process. Common tests undertaken include the corrosion test which is commonly done on products and parts used in the fields of automotive, pharmaceutical, motorsport and aerospace.
