Chain Hoists
Chain hoists or hoists use a chain to lift an object or to lower it and are among one of the earliest types of lifting devices. Chain hoists use a drum or lift wheel around which a chain or rope is wrapped for lifting heavy and bulky objects. Manual chain hoists have been in use for centuries. Chain hoists have undergone numerous changes with the passage of time and industrial and digital revolution. Most modern chain hoists use manual, electric or pneumatic power of pressurised gas and use chain, fibre or rope as lifting medium. Chain hoists are extensively used in construction, mining, petro-chemical and other industries where there is a need to lift heavy objects to a height.
