Cast Iron

Cast iron is a group of iron-carbon alloys with a carbon content greater than 2%, its main benefit is a very low melting temperature. Although with the low melting point, cast iron has good fluidity, castability, excellent machinability, resistance to deformation and wear resistance. Types of cast iron include grey cast iron, white cast iron, malleable cast iron, ductile cast iron, Ni-hard type 2 and Ni-resist type 2. Cast irons have become an engineering material with a wide range of uses in pipes, cast iron bridges, machines and automotive industry parts, such as cylinder heads, cylinder blocks and gearbox cases.
