Tool Steel
Tool steel refers to carbon and alloy steels that are well suited to being made into tools. Tool steel’s qualities include strength and resistance to corrosion and abrasion. There are six groups of tool steels: water-hardened, cold-worked, shock-resistant, high-speed, hot-work, and special purpose. Tool steel is graded in the following ways; water hardening, air hardening, D types, oil hardening, shock resisting types and hot working. Tool steel is used in a wide range of manufacturing of hand tools and machine dies.
