Lubricants

A lubricant reduces friction between surfaces in mutual contact, which then reduces the heat generated when the surfaces move. Lubricants work by keeping moving parts apart, reducing friction, transferring heat, carrying away contaminants & debris, transmitting power, protecting against wear, preventing corrosion, sealing for gases, stopping the risk of smoke and fire of objects, and preventing rust. Lubricants are used in industrial applications as well as in cooking (like oils and fats for frying, and oil in baking to prevent food sticking), bio-medical applications on humans, ultrasound examinations and medical examinations.
