Stud Mounts
Stud mounts are versatile anti-vibration mounts that work as highly effective vibration isolators. Essentially, stud mounts contain vibration damping qualities that allow the device to act like a fluid but also to retain its shape and performance for a very long time and millions of cycles. Various materials are used in the construction of stud mounts, including rubber, neoprene and silicone. Sorborthane visco-polymers offer the best performance. This material has a superior and much lower creep rate than other rubbers. Stud mounts are available in a range of specifications and configurations but generally speaking they are best suited to compression applications where there is a low shear force.
