Engraved Index

An engraved index can be used in conjunction with an engraved flat disk to make it possible to index an application. Typically engraved indexes are constructed in two different materials, clear plexiglass and black anodized aluminium. An engraved index has two thru holes of .1285 and the index is set at a 3/16 radius. It is a simple construction overall, but enables a very important function. An engraved index is useful in a variety of applications as it can be used to determine the number of times the zero of the dial has crossed the index, either in a clockwise direction or an anti-clockwise direction.
