Soft Ferrites

Ferrite magnets are a type of ceramic compound derived from iron and oxide which can be both ferromagnetic and nonconductive which means that they can be both magnetised and attracted to a magnet. They are divided into two families, both hard and with soft ferrites possessing a low magnetic coercively (resistance to being demagnetised). Common types include Barium ferrite, Strontium ferrite and Cobalt ferrite. Soft ferrites are used the electronics industry to make ferrite cores for inductors and transformers, and in various microwave components. They also used in telecommunications, power conversion and interference suppression.
