Machine Screws
Machine screws, or machine bolts as they are sometimes called, are screws that are usually designed to be fixed with a nut to a tapped hole to hold two objects in position. There are also some varieties of machine screws that can tap holes too. Machine screws are typically threaded and are usually smaller in size than hexagon screws and socket screws. The three main types of machine screws are pan head (rounded sides and a flat top), countersunk - with the underneath of the head tapered to enable the screw to sit flush with the object - and oval or raised countersunk – which have slightly rounded tops. Machine screws also come in a variety of types of drive, including Phillips and Torx. Due to their versatility and the wide range of material types, heads and threads, machine screws can be used to fasten a vast number of components in all sorts of machines. From tools to electronics to motor vehicles, machine screws can be used in applications in them all. The range of uses for machines screws stretches from terminal strips to waterproof motor casings.
