Pumps

A pump is a device or tool that moves fluids (both liquids or gases) by a mechanical action. Pumps can be manually operated, powered by electricity, engines and even wind power. Pumps can be divided into three major groups based on which method they use to move the fluid, these are - direct lift, displacement, and, finally, gravity pumps. Pumps have a wide range of purposes, such as, pumping water from wells, aquarium and pond filtering and aeration. Pumps are widely used in the car industry for water-cooling and fuel injection and in the energy industry for pumping oil and natural gas and for operating cooling towers. In the medical industry, pumps are used for biochemical processes in developing and manufacturing medicine.

  1. Centrifugal Pumps
    - 1 Supplier 1 Product

Centrifugal pumps are used in water, sewage, petroleum and petrochemical pumping. They are generally not self-priming (and require water) although self-priming centrifugal pump are available. Other types of centrifugal pumps are vertical centrifugal pumps, froth pumps, and multistage centrifugal pumps.

  2. Diaphragm Pumps
    - 2 Suppliers 15,913 Products

There are three different types of diaphragm positive displacement pumps (often referred to as a membrane pump) that all serve to transfer fluids like slurry, food processing residual, oil-sludge, debris-laden waste, stones, liquid, sugar, sticks, mud, clay, refinery waste, pharmaceutical, and industrial fluids.

  3. Gear Pumps
    - 0 Suppliers 0 Products

Gears pumps are one of the most common types of positive displacement pumps used for hydraulic fluid power applications. Both external gear and internal gear pumps are used in chemical installations and as lubrication pumps in machines tools. They are also used as oil pumps in engines.

  4. Peristaltic Pumps
    - 0 Suppliers 0 Products

Peristaltic pumps are used to pump fluids which have to stay sterile and cannot, therefore, be exposed to any pump components. They are commonly used in IVs and in heart-lunch machines and are often known as hose pumps and tube pumps.

  5. Screw Pumps
    - 0 Suppliers 0 Products

A screw pump is a positive displacement pump which uses screws to move fluid through a spindle. Screw pumps are used to transport fluids with lubricating properties, making them common for a wide range of applications including fuel-injection, oil burners, hydraulics, boosting, fuel, circulating, lubrication, and feed.

  7. Vacuum Pumps
    - 3 Suppliers 7 Products

Vacuum pumps are devices that remove gas molecules from a sealed volume to leave behind a vacuum that can actually serve to power or provide assistance to many mechanical devices. Types of vacuum pumps include positive displacement pumps, momentum transfer pumps (also called molecular pumps) and entrapment pump.

  8. Wind Pumps
    - 0 Suppliers 0 Products

For water supply needs and demand, wind pumps are the perfect solution for extracting water from underground sources, like wells and boreholes. Ideal for sites in remote locations, they do not require electricity to operate, only sufficient wind speeds. Utilising a simple mechanical system, they can pump large quantities of water for various water supply needs, such as providing irrigation or draining land.
