Wire Rope
A rope is formed with yarns, strands and piles that are bounded together through twisting or braiding into one strong form giving them tensile strength. It’s this tensile strength that means ropes can be employed for lifting, suspension, pulling and dragging. A wire rope is made from several strands of metal wire (usually steel) that are twisted into a helix. Types of metal rope types include metal strands, spiral ropes, running ropes, track ropes, stationary ropes, wire rope slings, and stranded ropes. Wire ropes are used in many different industries including construction, sports, theatre, seafaring, exploration, and communication.
