Case Hardened & Ground Shafts
Case hardened shafts, sometimes referred to as linear motion shafts or simply precision shafts, are typically constructed from steel, stainless steel and chrome steel types. Hardened shafts are used in linear guides and general mechanical engineering applications. A vast range of case hardened and ground shafts are available in different lengths, diameters and finishes. Various tolerances or machining are also available, such as threads and keyways. Widely used in mechanical engineering applications, case hardened and ground shafts can be used instead of conventional ground shafts as pins and angle bars in heavy load applications. The shafts are case hardened and ground to ensure maximum strength as well as straightness, tolerance and roundness.
