Ground Shafts

Ground shafts are precision shafts, usually from rolled steel, that are ground to specific ISO qualities of tolerance (h6 being the usual standard for ground shafts) for use in various applications. There are a vast range of configurations available for ground shafts. Centreless bar grinding is usually available in diameters ranging from 2mm to 150mm. Other types of grinding are also available, from surface grinding or internal grinding to journal grinding, typically on shafts up to 6000mm. Machining, such as drilled or tapped holes are other options, along with keyways. Ground shafts are used in a wide range of applications and across several industries. The aerospace and marine industries use ground shafts extensively, along with the automotive industry.
