Plastic Rod Stock Shafts

Plastic rod stock shafts are constructed from a range of plastics. Acetal has particularly high strength and rigidity. Other common materials used in plastic rod stock shafts are polycarbonate, which is the toughest thermoplastic available, and also has the benefit of being able to withstand extreme temperatures, both low and high. Polycarbonate rod stock shafts are fire resistant and virtually unbreakable. Cast nylon is another plastic typically used in plastic rod stock shafts. This material is also capable of handling extreme temperatures and has high mechanical strength. Plastic rod stock shafts have a variety of uses, from instrument handles to friction bearings and seals. Cast Nylon plastic rod stock shafts are often seen in bearings, gears and wheel applications.
