Ultra Ground Shafts

Ultra ground shafts, also known as ultra-precision shafts or ultra-precision shafting, is the highest specification and precision available for types of ground shafts. Various shaft lengths and diameters are available and ultra-ground shafts can be found with a range of other modifications, such as journals, drilled holes or retainer ring grooves. Common diameter types for ultra-ground shafts are 1/8", 3/16", 1/4" Diameter, but undersized and oversized diameters are also widely available. Ultra-ground shafting tends to be available in both metric and inch sizing. With metric sizes ranging from 2mm to 12mm, there is great variety available with ultra-ground shafts for use in a wide range of high precision applications. 303 stainless steel is the most common material used in the construction of ultra-ground shafts.
