Wave Springs

Wave springs offer optimum performance in environments where assemblies are small. Indeed, for any reduced spatial settings, wave springs are especially useful. Essentially, wave springs are seen as an alternative to conventional compression springs – particularly in applications where there is a tight load deflection and space is tight. As the size of assemblies continues to reduce, so does the size of wave springs that are available. Typical hole-diameter sizes for wave springs include the following ranges: 1/2”, 9/16” and 5/8”. Additionally, wave springs are available for 1/4” and 5/16” hole-diameters. As wave springs can reduce the overall size and weight of an assembly by so much, they are particularly useful devices. Type 17-7 stainless steel is the most common material used. Wave springs are characterized by their precise coiling and uniform diameters.
