Otoscopes

An otoscope or auriscope is a medical device which is used to look into the ears by medical professionals. They work by giving an accurate view of the hard to reach ear canal, eardrum and tympanic membrane. The most common type of otoscope is with a handle and a head, although wall-mounted otoscopes are also used as are smaller, portable versions. Whereas binocular otoscopes are more specialised otoscopes used by ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialists (called otolaryngologists) and otologists (which are a type of subspecialty ear doctors) Otoscopes are used in in emergency rooms, universities, paediatric offices, and general practice clinics.
