Wheelchairs

A wheelchair is a chair with wheels which is used to provide mobility for individuals who have difficulties walking by themselves. Wheelchairs can come in various formats depending on the needs of the individual using it. They can have specialised seating depending on the medical needs or have personalised controls if using a powered wheelchair. Wheelchairs are also adapted for specific activities such as for beach use or for sports. There are many different types of wheelchairs available, these include: self-propelled wheelchairs (manual), folding wheelchairs, battery or electric motor powered wheelchairs, single-arm drive wheelchairs, mobility scooters, sports wheelchairs and all-terrain wheelchairs.
