Scalpels

A scalpel is a sharp, bladed surgical instrument used for dissection and surgery. They can also be used in the removable or stitches. Types of scalpels include disposable (single use) or re-usable. In re-usable, the blades are either permanently attached (and require sharpening) or removable and replaceable (in which case the two types of blades are curved and concave). Double edged scalpels (with blades on either side) are known as lancets. Further types of scalpels include harmonic scalpels, harmonic scalpels, stainless steel, stitch cutters, and glass knives. Scalpels are used in the fields or research and medicine by doctors and surgeons, to either dissect, operate or remove stitches.
