Dictation Machines and Accessories

Dictation machines are an ever-present feature of most offices and conference rooms. Although, the older version of dictation machines popularized under the generic name of “Dictaphone” has been in use for over a century. Modern dictation machines and voice recorders are quite sophisticated devices which differ in significant ways from their predecessors. Dictation machines can mainly be divided into two categories namely analogue dictation machines and digital dictation machines. Due to better features, digital voice recorders and dictation machines are slowly replacing analogue ones. Analogue dictation machines use cassettes which have limited capacity and need to be changed frequently specially for lengthy recordings and lack the ability to connect with a computer. On the other hand, most digital dictation machines and voice recorders can record hundreds of hours of voice recording due to their large inbuilt memories which is often in the range of 16 to 32 GB. These devices can also be connected to a computer via a data cable or wirelessly and support popular file formats such as MP3.
