Fax Machines

Fax machines have been a constant fixture of offices for more than half a century and like any other technology have undergone dramatic changes in this time. Fax machines are facing a significant threat from Internet based communication technologies such as emails, instant messaging etc. But nonetheless most businesses till maintain fax machines at their premises. Fax machines are mainly of two types, thermal fax machines and laser fax machines. Thermal fax machines were the original ones which used to print something on a special fax paper by using the heat generated by warm print head in the machine. In these types of machines, no ink was involved, but the quality was not so good and often the printed text would disappear after a long period. Laser fax machines on the other hand have an inbuilt laser or inkjet printer and work like a normal printer. These printers require ink, cartridges and use normal printing paper. The quality of print is much higher and there is no risk of the text disappearing after some time.
