Light Meters

A light meter is used to measure the amount of light present for many different reasons – for example, in photography a light meter can determine the best exposure for a photograph. Light meters are available in both digital and analogue format, with both allowing the user to determine shutter speed, f-number and input lighting situation and film speed. Light meters are used in the industries of scenic design and cinematography to achieve the optimum light level for each scene. Light meters are also used in the field of lighting to reduce the amount of light wastage at home or light pollution in an outdoor environment.
