Beamsplitters

In optics, a beamsplitter is an optical device that splits a beam of light into two halves. They are made from high-quality glass with laser grade surface quality and surface flatness. The range of optical beamsplitters available includes pellicle, cube, polka dot, plate and speciality prism beamsplitters. Beamsplitters can be polarising and split light by polarisation state, non-polarising which split light by overall intensity, Diachronic which split light by polarised state or wavelength and are useful for splitting/combining wavelengths of different colour or standard which split light by a ratio that is independent of the polarisation state or wavelength. Beamsplitters are used in a number of optical applications including optical interferometry, life science, fluorescence applications and semiconductor or photonics instrumentation.
