Multiplexers

Multiplexers are often known as just mux and are a device that selects one of several analogue or digital input signals and pushed that selected input into a single line. The multiplexer benefits are its ability to increase the amount of data that can be sent over a network within time and bandwidth restrictions. On top of this, an electronic multiplexer makes is possible for several signals to share one device or resource like an A/D converter. Nowadays most multiplexers are digital and work on frequencies and wavelengths. The common types are Frequency Division Multiplexing, Wavelength Division Multiplexing, Time Division Multiplexer, Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer and Statistical Multiplexer. Multiplexers are necessary to the music, engineering, the television and telecommunications industry.
