Play Area Surfacing

Play area surfacing is material which lies in playground and play parks under playground equipment. It usually lies under slides, swings and monkey bars to provide protection as well as serving aestheticitically and as an alternative to grass which can be mucky and slippy when wet. Play area surfacing also provide an even and accessible surface for buggies, pushchairs and wheelchairs. Play area surfacing is usually made from wood or rubber, including rubber tiles, poured rubber and loose rubber mulch (commonly made from recycled tyres). Play area surfacing is commonly used in schools, preschools, nurseries, playparks, playground, play areas and holiday resorts.
