Overalls, Coveralls and Boiler Suits

Aprons are normally used for protecting front part of the body from stains, chemicals, x-rays etc. and come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Full body front aprons are the most common, although waist only aprons are also used in number of places.

Disposable overalls are used in laboratories, medical establishments and other places where there is a need to protect one’s body or clothes from exposure to chemicals or microbes. Most disposable overalls have full front zip fastening mechanisms and some also have elasticated hood, cuff and ankle.

Flame retardant overalls are normal workwear overalls coated with special flame retardant material which delays or inhibits the spread of fire by suppressing various chemical reactions. These overalls are used extensively by welders, fire fighters, furnace workers and workers are required by law and regulation to wear these at their places of work in many countries.

Lab coats and scrubs are protective garments worn by those in the scientific and medical industries. The white or lab coat symbolises cleanliness and hygiene and is commonplace in laboratories. Scrubs were traditionally the uniform of surgeons and operating theatre staff but are now seen on most hospital staff.

Painters overalls are overalls and boiler suits designed to protect painters and decorators from chemical stains, paints etc. Most paints and chemicals used for interior design and decorating also contain several injurious to health substances, which often results in skin diseases and other issues. Painter overalls protect painters working with these chemical substances.

Polycotton overalls are used in a wide range of sectors and are a preferred choice of many professionals and workers for their special features. Polycotton is made by combining polyester and cotton in varying ratios and offers the best of both fabrics.

Waterproof overalls like most other waterproof clothing come with special Dry Water Repellent coating which makes them showerproof and some are also fully water resistant due to extensive stitching used. Normally polyurethane, polyester and other synthetic fabrics are used for making waterproof overalls.

Winter overalls as the name suggests are designed to protect workers from cold and are designed to withstand extremely low temperatures which are a common feature at many outdoor workplaces. Most come with special features such as elasticated cuffs, detachable hoods, and often use reinforced nylon for keeping shoulders, knees and sleeves protected.
