Overalls, coveralls and boiler suit are various terms used to refer to a single piece garment with full-length sleeves and legs. Boiler suit got its name from men maintaining coal-fired boilers as it was first worn by these men. In North America, it is mainly known as Coveralls, and in the UK both overalls and boilersuit remain in use. Boilersuit, overalls and coveralls are mainly used as a form of protective clothing over normal clothes at work. Over the years boilersuits have been adopted by police units, armed forces in many countries and remains a favourite of industrial, cleaning, manufacturing workers who find it an easy way to protect their clothes from normal work related stains, slashes etc.
