Chefs Trousers

Blue and white checked trousers or Chefs trousers as they are popularly known are a hallmark of most kitchens and are used across the industry by all chefs. Although, head chefs in some countries also wear plain black trousers as these separate them from lower ranking chefs in an establishment. The colours of chef’s trousers are always dark as these make any stains almost invisible to human eye. Most chef trousers use polycotton with varying degrees of polyester and cotton as the main material. It’s not uncommon to see a very high ratio of polyester, even up to 90% combined with 10% cotton in these trousers. Chefs trousers normally have one or two pockets, purely for general use as chefs are not expected to carry tools in their pockets. These allow chefs to present their dishes in any gathering as aprons or upper clothing may be changed at a short notice, but it’s not possible to change trousers within a short amount of time.
