RAUMEDIC is active worldwide as a development partner and manufacturer for the medical technology and pharmaceutical industry, providing tubing, precision moldings and catheters as well as assemblies and systems. All thermoplastic polymers and silicones are processed to meet the quality requirements of medical devices. In addition, RAUMEDIC develops and produces high-precision pressure measuring systems with microchip technology for the specific indications of neuromonitoring, urology, and traumatology.
It is through its own research and development that RAUMEDIC provides highly-demanding customers with specialty products. RAUMEDIC has a worldwide distribution network and operates in selected markets through its own companies.
With over 60 years of know-how in the fields of extrusion, molding and assembly, RAUMEDIC is best equipped to transform the ideas of their customers into fully developed product solutions. Since the 1950’s RAUMEDIC extrudes tubing for medical applications from all types of polymers and silicones. The wide scope of raw material ranges from the basic thermoplastic materials like PVC, PP and PUR to the high performance plastics like FEP, PTFE and PEEK. RAUMEDIC’s production expertise comprises standard process technologies like monolayer-, multilayer- and co-extrusion, as well as more advanced process engineering with complex geometries for multilumen tubing and microextrusion capabilities with inner diameters as small as 0,004” (0.10 mm) or ultra thin wall thicknesses for micro-wire extrusion down to 0.0007” (0.02 mm). In-house compounding for customized material solutions and prototyping complete the portfolio.
Customer satisfaction and compliance with all relevant legal and official requirements are at the heart of RAUMEDIC’s approach to quality which is based on an ISO 13485 quality management system as well as in accordance with ISO 14644 (Class 7) clean room production requirements.
RAUMEDIC has built its new US headquarters in Mills River, North Carolina. This new development and production center will be equipped with class 7 clean-rooms and will be a local hub for its North American customers. The production started in January 2016 with more than 50 employees and intention is to increase this number gradually to more than 100. Furthermore RAUMEDIC has expanded its German headquarters in Helmbrechts, Bavaria by mid of last year.
