Employers Liability Insurance

Employer’s liability insurance is a compulsory insurance under the act of 1969. Employers’ liability insurance protects businesses against the cost of compensation claims arising from employee illness or injury, sustained as a result of their work for the business. It is a legal requirement if a business employs one or more people and an insurance must be sought for at least £5 million. Employer’s liability insurance is also known as compulsory insurance, due to its mandatory (and legally required) nature. If a business has employees, contractors, casual workers or temporary staff, they are required by law to take out employers’ liability cover.
