Product Liability Insurance

Product liability insurance protects manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, retailers, importers, and others who make products available against any type of situation whereby their products might cause injury to a person or damage to property. Product Liability insurance covers personal injuries caused by a faulty product, loss of or damage to property caused by a faulty product, in the event of any unforeseeable circumstances (such as product faults that a quality control system could not pick up on). Product liability insurance is for manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, retailers and importers. A business can be held liable for faulty products even if they did not manufacture them – the law dictates that those you can be liable if your business’s name is on the product, or if the business repairs a product or refurbishes or changes a product, or if the business imports the product from outside the EU.
