Software Support

Software Support is a resource intended to provide the customer or end user with information and support related to a company's or institution's products and services. The term is most generally used to describe a ‘Help Desk’. The software is the part of a computer that consists of the encoded information, and not the physical entity which the system is built. Software companies usually provide software support to consumers via various channels including a free-phone number, instant messaging or email. Software support can also be in-house, designed to provide assistance to employees. Software support is available to companies internal via an IT department or outsourced to an IT support service. It is also available to individuals who purchase IT products or services (often as part of the guarantee).
