Solicitors

A solicitor is a legal practitioner who traditionally deals with legal matters with defined (albeit large) scope. The solicitor’s role is to provide expert legal advice and support to individuals to individuals and companies. Most Solicitors in the UK are primarily litigators, although many Solicitors specialise in specific areas of law and some do their own advocacy cases. Solicitors deal with all the day-to-day paperwork and communication involved in client’s cases - this includes writing documents, letters, and contracts tailored to the client’s needs. Solicitor are also responsible for ensuring the accuracy of legal advice and procedure and preparing papers for Court. Another role of solicitors is to negotiate with clients and opposing parties to secure agreed objectives, gather evidence, calculate claims for damages, compensation, loss of earnings, supervise the implementation of agreements, maintenance and co-ordinate the work of all parties involved in the case. Solicitors are used for a wide-range for reasons, for high-value commercial work to personal injury cases, family law issues (like child law and divorce), criminal law, wills (and the general administration of estates).
