Centrifugal Casting

Centrifugal casting is a type of casting that is used to cast very think walled cylinders. In this type of casting, parts are created that are still to be tailored for end use (as opposed to finished parts). Centrifugal casting is an alternative to hot extruded tubing, rolled tubing, welded tubing, and forged tubing because it produces a metal part that is dense, clean and uniform. Materials that are cast in centrifugal casting include metal, concrete and glass. Another name for centrifugal casting is rotocasting. Centrifugal casting is used to manufacture pipes, cylinder liners, and flywheels for a wide variety of industries.
