Laser Cutting

Laser cutting is a process of using a laser to cut materials. It works by directing the output of a laser through optics, with the beam being directed at the material, to either melt, burn, or vaporise, or blow (via gas) to leave an edge with a high-quality finish. There are three main types of lasers used in laser cutting, mainly the CO2 (which is not just used for cutting but also boring and engraving), and the neodymium (Nd) and neodymium yttrium-aluminium-garnet (Nd-YAG) which are very similar in style. Laser cutting is typically used for industrial manufacturing applications but is also used by schools, small businesses, and hobbyist.
