CNC Boring

In manufacturing, boring is the process of enlarging a pre-existing hole that was already drilled or cast. This is done with a single-point cutting tool and ensures a greater accuracy in determining the ideal hole diameter size. A CNC (computer numeric control) is the process used to describe the automation of machine tools. In CNC programmes are controlled by as commands encoded on a storage medium (usually a computer) instead of being controlled manually by hand wheels or levers. In CNC borning, various fixed cycles are available in via these controls. These are basically pre-programmed subroutines – that involves processes of cut, retract, advance, cut again, retract again, return to the initial position, and so on. CNC boring is a manufacturing process used by the military and artillery industry as well the aerospace and automotive.
