Forming

Forming is the process of fashioning objects and parts (usually metal) through a process known as mechanical deformation. In this application, the workpiece is shaped and reformed without removing or adding any materials. In this case, the shape of the material is permanently deformed. Types of forming include rolling, extrusion, die forming, forging, indenting, stretching, expanding, recessing, spinning, upset bulging, flange forming, bending, shearing and deep drawing. Forming is widely used in the fields of engineering, aerospace, manufacturing, automotive, material handling, mining and Petroleum, and pharmaceuticals and other industries that rely on processes of fabrication to reach a finished product.
