Acoustical Engineering

Acoustical engineering, or acoustic engineering, deals with sound and vibration. Acoustic engineers will normally be involved in the design, analysis and control of sound. Acoustical engineering is used in noise control by reducing the sound of unwanted noise. Acoustical engineering, as well as dealing with unwanted noise, has a positive aspect of sound, for example ultrasound used in medical environments. It is also involved in the transmission of digital sound synthesisers and can be helpful in the design of a concert halls acoustics that will help improve the sound from the orchestra. Acoustical engineers work in all environments and industries to ensure sound is at a safe and acceptable level. They can work with architects to help design buildings, or provide soundproof booths or rooms for recording studios. Acoustical engineering is also used to create high-level acoustics in auditoriums or concert halls. Some factories may use an acoustical engineer to ensure noise control is at a level that is suitable for people to work in on a regular basis without affecting their health.
