Vehicle Engineering

Vehicle engineering comprises of automotive, marine and aerospace engineering and rolling stock. It deals with the design, build and operation of motor vehicles, motorcycles and trucks as well as their subsystems. Automotive engineering is all about designing new products and upgrading existing ones, discovering solutions to engineering issues and planning and creating new processes. Vehicle engineers are involved in developing and implementing test processes and then analysing the results and data to present to other professions. This branch of engineering looks at mechanical failures and identifies solutions to fix and improve them. They look at the performance of vehicles as well as the electronics and software in modern vehicles. Motor sport teams, tyre specialists, oil and fuel companies are only a few examples of who would use the knowledge of a vehicle engineer and put vehicle engineering into practice. Vehicle manufacturers, however, employ the biggest majority of vehicle engineers, and they can help deal with the sales of a vehicle and after-care.
