Air Quality Testing

Air quality testing provides a monitoring service for indoor air quality. The purpose is to measure and report on existing problems and identify potential issues before they result in remedial work being necessary and/ or expensive litigation arising. Carrying out such testing can help to create economic savings, increase individuals’ well-being and has an overall positive effect on environmental health. Indoor exposure to air pollutant sources can cause a range of effects from irritants like allergies to serious illnesses such as sick building syndrome and Legionnaire’s disease. To prevent issues, the testing of air quality can be done on a continuous basis; provide a snapshot of a given point in time; and/ or monitor personal exposure. Any factors that impact on air quality such as temperature, humidity, ozone, carbon dioxide, volatile organic compounds and airborne particulates (eg bacteria, fungi and pollen) can be measured. Pollutants are reported on with recommendations on how to rectify the situation. Air quality monitoring is advised or required by law in a whole range of settings, from domestic environments to factories, industrial units, offices and other commercial business premises; and public buildings such as schools, hospitals and hotels.
