Paint & Powder Coating

Paint & Powder Coating

Silchrome offers both wet spray painting and powder coating. We have invested in new spray facilities and curing ovens and both processes can be applied using a range of different types of paints and coatings.

With our excellent range of pre-treatment and plating processes Silchrome gives you the opportunity to have single company provide a complete service from start to finish.

Powder Coating

Powder Coating is a coating that is applied as a free flowing dry powder. The powder is applied and then cured in an oven to create a smooth film. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep it in a liquid form.

Painting

Silchrome have recently installed a modern in-house spray painting facility for the application of conventional paint surface coatings and powder coating.

Silchrome has dramatically increased its capabilities in the provision of specialist final coatings.

Silchrome have invested in new spray facilities and curing ovens and introduced a number of new processes.
We now offer:

Xylan

Xylan is a fluoropolymer based coating that can be applied to a wide range of components. Xylan coatings typically contain PTFE and offer improved wear resistance, reduced friction, heat resistance and corrosion resistance. There are a range of coatings with different specific properties that are designed to be used for different applications.

Everslik

There are a number of Molybdenum Disulphide (MoS2) based coatings supplied under various trade names. It is a dry lubricant and can be combined with other materials in different blends to produce coatings with enhanced properties for different specific applications.

Molykote

There are a number of Molybdenum Disulphide (MoS2) based coatings supplied under various trade names. It is a dry lubricant and can be combined with other materials in different blends to produce coatings with enhanced properties for different specific applications.

Epoxy Primers

Two part epoxy coatings were developed for heavy duty service on metal substrates and use less energy than heat-cured powder coatings. These systems generally use a 4:1 by volume mixing ratio, and dry quickly providing a tough, protective coating with excellent hardness.
