The AMC Rackmount Industrial Computer offers the user a lower long-term cost of ownership. The use of passive backplane architecture, both PICMG 1.0 and PICMG 1.3 gives a much lower MTTR and faster and easier upgrades.
Typical life cycles are a minimum of 5 to 7 years and the Rackmount Industrial Computer gives more expandability than any of the available commercial systems. Rackmount Industrial Computers offer a much better mechanical solution than trying to use motherboard technology with the Riser board approach due to mechanical tolerance variations leading to poor reliability. Another advantage of a Rackmount Industrial Computer is the wide operating temperature range which allows the unit to operate comfortably in a 24/7 environment.
AMC primarily sells Industrial Rackmount Computers, Embedded Computers and Embedded PCs to OEMs, particularly in the Military, Transportation, Telecoms, Broadcast and Technical area.

As well as Industrial Rackmount Computers we also specialise in Fanless Embedded Computers and Embedded PC configurations with our own in-house design resources that enables us to undertake original PCB design, software and mechanical design.
Embedded computers are designed to perform a dedicated operation with I/O designed for a specific task such as control of a piece of test equipment or perhaps a data logger in a transportation application. Often it is housed in a custom chassis that may be fanless and IP rated for use in a harsh environment with regards to temperature, shock & vibration. However because embedded computers are designed around “PC architecture” it will operate with standard software such as the Windows Operating Systems or Linux. By contrast, a general-purpose computer, such as a personal computer (PC), is designed to be flexible and to meet a wide range of end-user needs.
Touch Screen Panel PCs are used in numerous applications from Building Management, Machine Control, Kiosks, Receptions, Information Terminals, Security Applications and PLC Control. Panel PCs are designed to run a particular task compared to a standard desktop PC and so will have an embedded application running on them from Compact Flash based on perhaps Windows Embedded or Linux.
