Originally formed in February 1975, AMELEC remains a wholly owned British manufacturing and design company. The instrumentation that AMELEC offers to the market place is based on analogue techniques, using readily available discrete components.

Therefore all the monitoring is in real time. The instruments contain no time dependent or microprocessor circuitry and are suitable for use in SIL level 1, 2 or 3 rated safety systems/loops & are covered up to 10 year warranty. With a variety of process control systems available, it is often necessary to convert an input signal into a format that your system will accept.

The design & everyday application engineering principles used in the instruments are based on well tried and proven in use for over 40 years in linear operational and amplifier circuitry. Each unique, custom built analogue instrument can be considered as a number of functional blocks assembled together to produce a specific process control function.

A signal conditioner / transmitter would comprise of an input circuit, a modulator / demodulator stage, an output circuit and the power supply/regulation circuitry. A trip amplifier might use the same input circuit, but this time a comparator and relay driver stage plus the power supply / regulation circuitry is used.

By combining these functional blocks together we have produced a comprehensive range of trip amplifiers, transmitters, signal converters / isolators, combined trip transmitters, arithmetic (add / subtract / select / multiply / divide) units, power supplies, strain gauge, frequency & AC I/V transducers. On top of all that, we also manufacture hart compatible units.

The circuit building blocks we use today are essentially the same as the ones we have used for the last 35 years and still providing reliable instrumentation for system, maintenance, reactive engineers and more. Signal conditioners take signals from an assortment of field instruments such as thermocouples and RTDs and convert those signals into any of several standard instrument signals (1…5V, 4…20 mA, etc.).

Signal conditioners are also beneficial to the accurate transfer of these signals, isolation and the elimination of ground loops. To confirm that the instruments are compliant with the latest standards, AMELEC have submitted a range of instruments with all the various circuit blocks in them to the several test houses.

    2" High 4 Digit Large Display Panel Meter- APM489-LD-2-P

    The APM489-LD-2-P is a 2" High 4 Digit Large Display Panel Meter with 95-265Vac supply voltage suitable for a combination of process inputs. (12V / 24Vdc option available on request)

    It's a 57mm (2") high 4 digit red LED high-brightness display for up to 25 metre viewing.(Other colours available on request).

    The display can be calibrated as either 0 to 100.0% or in engineering units to suit applications. Display scaled at factory prior to shipment, although can be re-scaled using front panel pushbuttons if required.

    4-20mA Dual Output Trip Amplifier - AEC132

    Our AEC132 DUAL OUTPUT TRIP AMPLIFIER - suitable for combinations of process inputs & outputs with two independent trip relay outputs that can be easily configured for high or low combinations via dip switches. Manufactured with a true universal AC/DC supply voltage 21V through 265V AC/DC.

    4-20mA is the factory default input range, with other voltage and current input ranges available on request. The two independent trip set points are adjustable by 15 turn potentiometers, as well as an adjustable hysteresis set by 15 turn potentiometers (1 to 4%).

    Its user friendly DIL Switch/jumper links are easily accessible to change original factory settings and is DIN Rail mountable.

    Our AEC232 4-20mA SIGNAL ISOLATOR W/ TRIP AMPLIFIER – suitable for combinations of process V/I (DC) input and output signals with a trip set point. The AEC232 boasts innovatively integrated isolation and 1:1 conversion of standard current signals. Its compact design is useful for space saving, low power consumption and accurate signal isolator/converter capabilities.

    Manufactured with a true universal AC/DC supply voltage 21V through 265V AC/DC. The ADG230 has a one trip relay output that gives a set of change over contacts. The trip set point is adjustable by 15 turn potentiometers, as well as an adjustable hysteresis set by 15 turn potentiometers (1 to 5%).

    4.5 Digit Non-Microprocessor Digital Panel Meter - APM489-4.5

    The APM489-4.5 is a 4.5 digit seismic S2 qualified non-microprocessor based panel meter which has a red LED high-brightness display.

    It is suitable for use in SIL1 & SIL2 rated safety loop applications and tested to withstand 0.25g (25m/s²) at 33Hz.

    Display range scaled to request, although display can re-scaled using jumpers and zero-span potentiometers behind front bezel. IP rating IP50 as standard, optional IP66 Front Cover available.

    Standard 115/230Vac supply. (24Vdc supply option available on request) and two wire 24Vdc excitation available as standard on AC supply models.

    Our ASC005 COMPACT DC CURRENT TRANSDUCER - with a split core and condensed size that allows for non-intrusive monitoring and is loop powered in order to reduce wiring. It’s the perfect transducer for use in DC current monitoring and current signal conditioning, it also has a 1 turn potentiometer for output calibration.

    With no insertion losses and high accuracy, our current transducer can easily be installed via its split core clip design. Its input and outputs are isolated by way of hall effect principle. The current input can be perfectly suited to your application as we can provide various ranges.
