AML Instruments are delighted to announce the acquisition of DRC “Dorset Repair & Calibration Services”, we will begin operating under the AML umbrella on the 17^th February 2023. Here at AML Instruments, we look forward to serving DRC’s loyal customers. DRC are a long-established force calibration and repair specialists, our coming together will allow us to even better serve our combined customers. The acquisition of DRC “Dorset Repair & Calibration Services” will benefit both existing customer bases. AML holds both ISO 9001 & 17025 for calibration, giving greater confidence in the accuracy & quality of the calibrations provided.

Within the coming months our UKAS scope will cover force calibrations from 1N to 500 kN (50 tonnes), with extended capabilities outside of the scope right up to 3000 kN (300 tonnes) on a traceable to National Standards basis for the calibrations.

AML will provide a smooth transition of all customers from DRC and we will maintain all pricing, service levels and times.

AML Instruments are pleased to announce that we now hold UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation, making us the only UKAS accredited calibration laboratory in Lincolnshire.

Being a family owned calibration and test equipment company, we pride ourselves in providing the best service to our customers by maintaining strong personal customer relationships. While we have always been committed to upholding the highest quality standards, we have taken the next step in providing our clients with an even greater confidence in our technical ability via the acquisition of a UKAS accreditation, to accompany our existing ISO 9001 certification.

Our central location in the East Midlands allows our engineers to provide onsite calibration services all over the country, with the resources to also carry out visits in Europe and further afield. Current customers span from Redruth in Cornwall to Aberdeen in Scotland, not forgetting everywhere else in between!

Why is UKAS ISO 17025 important?

ISO 17025 is the prevailing standard for calibration internationally.

A laboratory’s fulfilment of the requirements of ISO 17025 means the laboratory complies with both the technical competence requirements and management system requirements necessary to consistently deliver technically valid test results and calibrations. The management system requirements in ISO 17025 are written in relation to laboratory operations and operate generally within accordance to the principles of ISO 9001.

Our initial scope is for Weigh Scales and Balances (Non Automated Weighing Equipment), though this will only be expanding over the following months and we welcome suggestions on the next disciplines to add to this

Our ISO 9001 scope is already incredibly well established and includes, but is not limited to: Dimensional, Pressure, Temperature, Force, Torque, Humidity, Viscosity, pH, Conductivity,Gloss and Colour.
